It is final and official from the office of producers Dayanidhi Azhagiri and Vivek Karunakaran from Cloud Nine Productions. It has been strongly affirmed by them that Thala’s ‘Mankatha’ will hit screens on May 1, 2011.

Making his debut with ‘Amaravathi’, Ajith Kumar has reached the greatest heights as a successful actor. The shooting of his upcoming film ‘Mankatha’ is going on successfully. The first schedule was completed in Chennai followed by Bangkok.
Right now, a huge set of Mumbai based Dharavi slum is raised at 3 different places in Chennai for a 40-day schedule. Venkat Prabhu thanks his art director Ritish for his outstanding work.
‘Mankatha’ has Thala Ajith Kumar in lead role along with Action King Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Vaibhav, Premji Amaran, Mahath, Jai Prakash, Subbu Panchu, Anjali and others. Newcomer Ashwin has an important role in this movie.
Following the grand success of ‘Chennai 600028’, ‘Saroja’ and ‘Goa’ Venkat Prabhu feels himself lucky for wielding megaphone for Ajith Kumar’s 50th film. Venkat Prabhu’s most favorite pal Sakthi Saravanan is handling cinematography.
Following this shoot in Chennai, the next schedule will be held in Mumbai and Hyderabad by February that will wrap up the shooting followed by post production works in March and April.
Stun Selva choreographs action sequences for the film while Vaali, Gangai Amaran have written lyrics. Yuvan Shankar Raja who rocked with Ajith Kumar in ‘Dheena’, ‘Billa’ and ‘Aegan’ comes back joining hands with him again.
Three songs have already been completed and 2 songs will be done shortly. A popular and eminent personality will croon a song for this album.
