Ajith’s 50th film was much discussed about and when Gautham Menon basking in the glory of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya announced that he is going to direct Ajith’s next, film buffs’ joy knew no bounds. There was also news that the movie will be named Thuppariyum Anand and will be a thriller based on the events of a detective’s life. For reasons unknown, the project got shelved. When asked about it, Director Gautham Menon said that he had to wait for a long time for Ajith to give commitment and so he decided to call it off and move on.
Murugadoss and Ajith together gave a commercial hit with Dheena. The movie was also given thumbs up by critics, so when there was news about the two teaming up again everyone welcomed it with open arms. The movie was to be titled Mirattal and everyone was eagerly awaiting a superb action drama. But the project got dropped for mysterious reasons and Murugadoss went ahead with Ghajini and Ajith moved on too.
Hit-maker Shankar approached Ajith to play the role of twin brother in the rom-com Jeans which had Aishwarya Rai playing the heroine. Ajith could not accept the offer due to several reasons and Prashanth played the hero instead. It gave a new lease of life for the actor and he rocked in the suave clean shaved avatar! We wish Shankar makes a film with Ajith in the future! |
Ajith was the first one considered by Bala for Naan Kadavul. But it did not work for reasons unknown and after trying out many heroes, Arya was finally zeroed in on and the rest as they say is History.
