DECCAN CHRONICLE :
After a brief hiatus in the industry, Tamannah is back with a Tamil film opposite Thala Ajith
Why was Tamannah Bhatia missing from Kollywood the last few years? Only the vivacious beauty can tell. One of the hottest heroines in Tamil films, the Paiya girl disappeared from the K’town scene all of a sudden — the buzz was that there were personal reasons behind the decision.
She was, for her part, hotly denying such reports. She was too busy with Tollywood flicks, dates were clashing, and so on, she said.
Our sources inform us that in recent times, many big projects such as Thuppakki, were offered to her but she declined them due to prior commitments, including Bollywood film, Himmatwala.
Now, the news is that Tamannah is back in K’Town—and how! She is paired opposite Thala Ajith in his forthcoming, untitled movie, to be directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by the legendary Vijaya Productions. This puts an end to speculation that Anushka Shetty, one of Shiva’s favourites, will be seen sharing screen space with the Billa star. Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the tracks for this mass entertainer. From his choice of cast, it seems Ajith wants to promote young actors: in Mankatha he had Ashwin, Mahat, Premgi and Akash in key roles. Here too, it’s Vidharth, Bala, Munish and Sohail in important roles.
Top comedian Santhanam too teams up with Ajith -after Kireedom (where he was still an up-and-coming actor) and Billa.
Clearly, Siva is excited about working with the Ultimate Star.
“Each time I see Ajith sir to discuss the story, his image on my mind grows rapidly and I am sure my script will definitely enthrall his legion of fans,“ asserts Siva. The Mankatha star will be promoting young talent in his upcoming untitled film.

CHENNAI TIMES :
The latest buzz in the industry is that actress Tamannaah has scored over Anushka and bagged the role of Ajith’s leading lady in his next film, which will be directed by Siruthai Siva. This will be a big film for Tamannaah, who’s last release was in 2011 in K-Town, Venghai, didn’t fare well at the BO.
A source says, “When the film was launched during Nagi Reddy’s centenary year celebrations, it was revealed that Anushka would play the female lead in the film. In fact, she was one of the first actors to be roped in for the project. But now, she has had to opt out of the film owing to date clashes.”
The source adds, “Ajith’s film with Vishnuvardhan is still underway, thus further delaying Siva’s film. And Anushka didn’t have dates available to suit the team’s requirements. So, she has opted out of the film. The team is now in talks with Tamannaah, and though she has agreed to do the film in principle, she is yet to sign on the dotted line.”
While Tamannaah’s father confirms that the actress is in talks to do the film, Siva says, “The heroine has been finalized and the producers will soon make a formal announcement.”
